Our Transition Year students have enjoyed a busy and engaging period from January to midterm, taking part in a wide range of activities that supported personal development, wellbeing, and real-world learning. Highlights from this term include participation in the Civic Theatre’s Tenderfoot Programme, visits to the Criminal Courts of Justice, and STEM learning through the STEM Passport for Inclusion programme and the iWish event at the RDS.
Students also benefited from a variety of inspiring workshops and guest speakers focusing on resilience, teamwork, health awareness, and responsible decision-making. Opportunities such as university language workshops at TU Grangegorman, work experience with Echelon Data Centres, the Dublin Zoo education programme, and the Wheelchair Basketball4All event in DCU allowed students to broaden their horizons and explore potential future pathways.
From theatre and cultural programmes to hands-on STEM activities and industry engagement, this term has provided a valuable balance of academic, personal, and experiential learning, highlighting the enthusiasm and commitment of our TY cohort.
